Personally, I’m not a fan of shopping malls/centers/precincts – whatever you want to call them! With charming, characterful streets to explore; the faceless, generic shopping precincts just don’t float my boat. But, it must be said, Gothenburg does shopping precincts well too! Gothenburg has plenty of great shopping. The mix includes small independent shops, modern department stores and gallerias – everything within walking distance. For independent shops try the neighborhoods Magasinsgatan for trendy, local brands and Haga for cafés and small shops selling everything from olive oil to interior design or vintage and a cosy atmosphere.
